When it comes to designing a training program, we take a comprehensive and goal-specific approach to best-suit each client. There are no “cookie-cutter” workouts. We understand the importance of customization and focus on making your sessions as individualized as you are! Proper form and technique are at the core of our training paradigm. Each session, whether it’s your first or your hundredth, will have an emphasis on how to safely and properly perform each exercise. Form is never sacrificed for weight or intensity. One-on-one personal training sessions are offered in both 30- and 60-minute sessions. The session frequency is usually 2-3 days per week.
For young athletes, one of the most important elements of becoming a better athlete is a firm foundation on how to safely and proficiently execute the basics in the weight room. Our training programs can help improve body awareness, confidence, strength, and reduce the likelihood of injury. For example, all of our active athletes perform a neck strengthening training protocol, which is scientifically proven to help reduce the risk of concussion in athletes. The Body Shop is one of the few private locations in New Jersey that has this equipment.
Whether you are planning to become pregnant, currently pregnant, or have recently given birth, a safe and effective strength training program will help contribute to a healthier life for you and your baby. However, knowing which exercises and activities to choose can seem daunting. Our trainers are certified through the Fit for Birth Certification and can help ease some of your concerns. Core activation, pelvic floor strengthening, belly breathing, and functional exercises are a few techniques typically incorporated to prepare you for childbirth or to help increase your fitness and confidence throughout your postpartum.
Our trainers are certified in Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). FST is a special technique that can be included in your training session, or added as a separate 30-60 minute session. You work with one of the trainers who guides your body through specific movement patterns to release adhesions in your fascia. Fascia is the connective tissue all courses throughout the human body. Most muscle aches can are not actually in the muscle but in the fascia. For example, ever hear of plantar fasciitis? Ever hear of people who have plantar fasciitis that also have neck pain? Well the plantar FASCIA runs from the bottom of the foot all the way up to your neck. FST can alleviate any fascial sticking that can be causing you pain, discomfort, and improper body mechanics. FST helps create better mobility and often helps reduce or even eliminate many pain and problems people deal with on a daily basis.
Small group training ranges anywhere from 4 to 8 people. Our group classes use a circuit-style training method, while still focusing on mastering the basic, most effective strength exercises. You can expect a mixture of both strength and conditioning, using equipment such as dumbbells, kettlebells, TRX straps, and medicine balls. Positive attitudes are required! All fitness levels welcome. Scheduling varies, so inquire within.
